Obituary

Ileene Agnes Hodges, 93, of Traverse City passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at The Grand Traverse Pavilions with her loving family at her side.

Ileene was born on January 9, 1931 in Monroe MI. She was proudly raised by her mom, the late Helen (Sigler) Bramhill and her step-father Stephen Bramhill. She grew up in River Rouge, MI and graduated from Our Lady of the Lourdes. She retired from H & K Fastener Corporation which she and her husband Bill Hodges founded in 1981. At that time H & K Fastener was the first nut and bolt distributor North of Saginaw.

She married William Francis Hodges on October 29, 1949 in River Rouge, MI. Together they lovingly raised 7 wonderful children. She truly loved being a wife and mother above all.

In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, rug hooking, traveling and playing the piano. She was a proud member of the Sweet Adeline singing club which was featured on Public Television in the 1960's. Ileene and Bill also loved their home on St Petersburg Beach where they shared many great memories with family and friends.

Ileene was proud of her Catholic faith and was a member of many of the Grand Traverse Area Catholic Churches throughout her life. She was currently a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Ileene is survived by her beloved husband Bill of 74 devoted years, her children, Patrick (Charlene) Hodges of Traverse City, William (Sharon) Hodges of Lake Ann, Michael (Friend Michelle) Hodges of Traverse City, Mary Ellen (Alan) Strange of Traverse City, Cindy (Fiancée Kirk) Hodges of ND, Brian (Denise) Hodges of Dewitt, Nancy (Steve) Turner of Avondale, AZ. Grandchildren Michael Shon (Lisa) Hodges, Philip Hodges, Dr. Andrea (Brad) Trembath, Jim Lilley, Leslie (Jesse)Fogleman, Karen Hodges, Dr. Ashley (Virginia) Turner, Steven (Anne) Turner, Alexandra Hodges, Shaunda Jimkowski, many great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jason Sigler, Arthur Sigler and her grandson Kyle Hodges.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 at the Church with a visitation to follow with Mass at 12 noon. Interment will be held at 1pm on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mass Intentions or to the Church.
