Irene Mary Garvin, 87, of Cedar, passed away on March 2, 2015, surrounded by her family. Irene was born in Hubbell, MI on June 13, 1927, to her parents, the late Gedeon and Julia (Provast) Parent.

Irene married Edmond Clemence Garvin in Detroit, on Dec. 2, 1950, and the couple relocated to the Cedar area in 1973. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking and canning and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Edmond; daughters, Janet (Ken"Chopper") Novak, Trudy (Jon) Gresso; son, Kenneth (Lynn) J. Garvin; grandchildren, Jenna (Rick) Groll, Tara, Kerri, Ken, River; great-granddaughter, Alyvia Marlee Groll.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Henry and John Parent; sister, Marcella; stepbrothers; Clifford and Gerald.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation held one hour prior at the funeral home.
