Irene D. Goodrich, 92, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Autumn House on March 14, 2025.

Irene was born on October 21, 1932 in Allegan to the late Howard S. and Marion (Bond) Wedge.

Irene entered into marriage with her high school sweetheart, Robert D. Goodrich on November 12, 1949 at the Allegan Bible Church.

Irene and Bob shared 63 wonderful years before his passing in 2012. Together they raised three wonderful children and were blessed with 8 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Irene will be remembered for her amazing sense of humor and fantastic quick wit. She was a wonderful positive influence on others and she loved to laugh and make others laugh too. She could fix anything; in fact she didn't just fix it, she usually made it better. She was a gifted author and wrote a book of poetry that her family cherishes. As a young mom, she was the family barber and a talented seamstress. She could truly do it all, and always did so with a smile.

Faith was always important to her and she was a member of the Allegan Bible Church and the Bible Baptist Church in Traverse City. In her younger years she always volunteered to pick up the neighborhood kids and take them to Sunday School, VBS or after school Bible Club.

She will also be remembered for her time as a bus driver in Allegan. Students still remembered her decades later for her kind heart and beautiful smile.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob; her parents; her step father John Roozenburg; her brothers Lyle Wedge and Gordon Wedge and a sister in infancy Shirley Anne.

Irene is survived by her three children Bob (Sharon) Goodrich of Grand Rapids, Dennis (Deb) Goodrich of Kalamazoo and Debra (Kelly) Miller of Traverse City; her sister Nancy Minegar and her grandchildren.

The memorial service celebrating her life will be held on April 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:30 pm at the Bible Baptist Church. A time for fellowship and refreshments will follow.
