WILLIAMSBURG — Isabella Maria Kerlin, 99, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sept. 3, 2015. Isabella was born on Sept. 22, 1915 in Ahmeek, to the late Battista and Marry (Masse) Capello.
She married Carol Francis Kerlin on Dec. 22, 1934. The couple raised their two sons and lived in Flint, Barton City and later Williamsburg.
She was employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug of Flint.
She volunteered with the American Red Cross and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Eagles, Michigan Election Board and Sweet Adelines.
Music was her passion as well as singing, reading and playing the organ and the ukulele. She especially enjoyed camping, traveling, working on crossword puzzles, playing all card and board games and caring for her many beloved pets that shared lives with her. She loved to watch her Detroit Tigers and attended her last home game in 2007 on her 91st birthday.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Janet) Kerlin and Harry (Brenda) Kerlin; grandchildren, Kameron (Dina Walker) Kerlin, Kriste (Ken) Kerlin-Hornyak, Kelly (Bill) Kerlin-Ropposch, Lori Kerlin, Koleen (Ken) Kerlin-Spigarelli and Derek Corbell; great-grandchildren, Kara, Keaden, Amy, Kolter, Tyler, Kaelin, Isabella, Mia-Aeryn and Hadley Grace; sisters, Evelyn Patritto (age 102) and Gloria Carter (age 81).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Battista and Marry Capello; her husband, Carol Francis Kerlin; sisters, Josephine Weidner, Violet Capello, Rose Berardo, Louise Elliot and Marie Rateau; and her beloved kitty, "Poka."
A visitation will be held for family and friends on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Sept. 9, at the funeral home, with visitation held one hour prior. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Barton City.
Memorial contributions in Isabella's name may be directed to Munson Hospice House.
