James Herbert "Herb" Sullivan, 68, of Traverse City, MI, previously of Carrollton, GA, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Herb retired from Tanner Health Care Systems, Carrollton, GA in 2013 where he worked as Director of Facilities Development. He was instrumental in the building of three health care facilities. Prior to his stroke in 2014 he had enjoyed deep sea fishing, and fishing from his dock on Spider Lake in Traverse City after his retirement. He was a member of First Christian Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Herb was known for his quick wit, his sense of humor and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Sandra (Wilder) Sullivan, daughters Holly (Patrick) Edmondson, April (Joe) Sullivan, son Robert "Rob" Sullivan, grandchildren Erika Edmondson, Ashley Edmondson, and Emerson Sullivan, sister Jo (Bill) Cooper, nephew Andy Cooper, niece Beth (Cooper) Pettitt, mother-in-law Dorothy Wilder.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Hamilton "Hamp" Sullivan and Melba (Wallis) Sullivan, his aunt Mildred (Wallis) Harris, and his nephew William Henry "Hank" Cooper IV.
