Jack Craggs, 91, of Traverse City passed away at his home with his family by his side on August 7, 2020.
Jack was born on December 12, 1928 in Detroit to the late John Garfield and Evelyn Ruby (Savage) Craggs.
Jack married his best friend and love of his life, Lois Ann Decker on March 26, 1949 in Detroit.
After graduating from Cooley High School Jack served as a police officer in Detroit for a few years. He then went on to become a successful owner and partner for several decades with his brother Bob of Craggs Cabinets.
In his free time he enjoyed golfing, down hill skiing and boating. He also liked to travel, and visit the family cottage on Saginaw Bay.
Anniversaries were special to Jack and Lois and they celebrated many in Palm Springs, California. They loved dining at the Babes Restaurant. For their 25th anniversary they travelled to Acapulco and for their 50th went on a cruise to St. Thomas.
Jack could often be found sitting in his den watching his birds. He especially enjoyed feeding and watching cardinals.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years Lois, their son Fred and siblings Robert "Bob", William "Bill" and Joyce.
Jack is survived by his children Ken (Luanne), Chris (Mark) Bowie and Kathy (Kendall) Smith; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm at the gardens at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Private family graveside service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jack may be directed to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
