Jack Edward Day, 93, of Traverse City , died Monday, July 30, 2012 at Southridge Assisted Senior Living in Traverse City.
Jack was born on Saturday, June 14, 1919 to the late Leander and Mollie (Clark) Day in Willis, MI. Jack had served our country as a member of the U. S. Navy. In 1940, he married Bess Turnbull in Ypsilanti. She preceded him in death in 1974.
Jack had been the manager of The Acme Paint Store in Traverse City for many years.
He is survived by his children Jane (Bob) Holdeman of Traverse City, Peggy (Rob Serbin) Day of Maple City and Betsy Arcari of Gregory. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Scott (Sarah) Holdeman and John (Liz) Holdeman, Carolyn Mutchler (Kevin) Kelly, Kathryn Mutchler (Jack) Marsh, Erin Attwood (Vic) Lane and Anne Attwood (Josh) Rollo; 9 great grandchildren and his sister in law Theo Bohms. In addition to his wife, Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William.
Private family services will be held with burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
