Jack Robert Jorgensen, 77, of Traverse City passed away April 29, 2023 at Munson Medical Center.
Jack was born on October 31, 1945 in Manistee to the late LaVerne and Jeanette (Rademaker) Jorgensen.
Jack was raised on a 60 acre farm and then the family moved to the Traverse City area. He graduated from Traverse City High School at the age of 17, and then enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served for over three years. After he was honorably discharged he attended NMC and later trade school. He went on to work for Chef Pierre for 18 years before he retired. Although he retired, he went right back to work volunteering at Munson Medical Center. He volunteered over twenty thousand hours and helped with logistics for 30 years. He retired officially this past December as the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time!)
In his free time Jack enjoyed spending time outside, especially fishing, hunting and walking. He also enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and cribbage.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother James.
Jack is survived by his son Kevin (Chloe) and sister Joyce (Ronald) O'Hagan; and sister-in-law Patricia Jorgensen and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:30 am at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:30. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post and the American Legion of which he was a member for many years.
Interment will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
