Jack R. Knowles

TRAVERSE CITY – Jack R. Knowles, age 82, of Traverse City, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at The Villa (Bortz) at Traverse Point with his family by his side.
Jack was born October 30, 1933 in Traverse City, MI to Raymond and Ferne Knowles. He graduated from Traverse City Central High School and attended Northwestern Michigan College following high school. In 1953 he served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged in 1955.
Jack was a professional window cleaner, which is a family owned business that opened in 1956 and is still in operation today. Jack enjoyed stream fishing as well as shining and cleaning his vehicles which included his corvette. Jack also loved his desserts.
Jack married Wanetta Barnes September 28, 1963. Together they had one son whom they were so very proud, Rick (Michelle) Knowles. Also surviving Jack are his grandsons, Tyler and Kyle Knowles, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, as well as brother Vern and sister-in-law Kay.
