Obituary

Jack Arthur Ver Planck, 85, of Lake City passed away January 8, 2018 at Munson Medical Center.

Jack was born on November 26, 1931 in Lansing to the late Allen Burt and Ethel Mary (Pierce) Ver Planck.

On November 8, 1952 Jack married the love of his life, Mary Lou Hollingsworth in Lansing.

Jack served our country honorably as a member of the United States Army. After his time in the service he went to work for the State of Michigan Department of Transportation. He was a draftsman and retired after 30 years at the age of 50.

In his spare time he enjoyed the lake, spending the winters in Florida and fellowship at the Elks and the American Legion.

Jack is survived by his sons Ron (Roxane) of Kalamazoo and Mark (Pam) of Grand Ledge; grandchildren Jason (Mary) Ver Planck of Staunton, VA, Tamara (Mark) Keifer of Lansing, Neil (Liisa) Ver Planck of East Lansing and Kimberly Ver Planck of Lansing; great grandchildren Jackson, Charlotte, Emily, Jeremiah and Alex; and brother Harry.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Lou in August of 2013, twin brother Jim, his brother Andrew and sister Elizabeth.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lansing.

Memorial contributions in memory of Jack may be directed to St. Stephen's Catholic Church or the American Legion Post #300 in Lake City.
