Jacob Duane High

Jacob Duane High, 38 of Traverse City and formerly of Midland passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2024.
Jacob was born on October 9, 1985 in Sacramento, CA to Ted and Wendy High. He, along with his two younger siblings Scott and Christine grew up in Midland. He graduated from Midland High in 2004 and then earned an Associate's Degree from Delta College. He and his family were faithful members at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland for 27 years and now belong to Advent Lutheran Church in Lake Ann.
Jacob was happiest when he was outdoors. He loved the beach, bike riding and playing disc golf. He also liked to play video games and was an avid player of the card game, Magic. Jacob loved to spend time with family just hanging out and during the many holiday gatherings with the whole crew. Jacob worked alongside his father on many construction and remodeling projects, always willing to lend a hand when needed. Jacob was a kind young man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Duane (Dorothy) High, Harold (Ruth) Truelove and aunts Pat Truelove and Connie Truelove.
He is survived by his parents Ted and Wendy; siblings Scott and Christine; Aunts and Uncles Larry (Diane) Truelove, Dee Truelove, Tom (Sue) Truelove, Tim Truelove, Cathy (Jimmy) Smith; Cousins Levi (Jen) Truelove, Casey (Amanda) Truelove, Terra (Mik) Chall, Rachel (Patrick) Tedham, Morgan (Kaitlyn) Truelove, Corrie (Deane) Comer, Michelle Montgomery, Nathan Truelove, Caitlyn (Adam) Stasiuk, Colleen Truelove, Mitch Truelove, Adam (Emily) Hoff, Amy (Brandon) Stone, and Sarah Moore.
The celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Advent Lutheran Church in Lake Ann, Michigan, at 11:00 am with visitation beginning one hour prior. Pastors Gerald Ferguson and Rosanne Anderson will lead the service. A Luncheon will follow at the church.
He will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City at a later date.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to Addiction Treatment Services or Advent Lutheran Church.
