Jacqueline Creighton Bradley, 79, of Traverse City
passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City.
Born on Monday, March 5, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of
the late Francis and Catherine (Jackson) Creighton. She attended schools
in Milford, CT and graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Mercy in 1952. Jackie continued her education at Marywood College in Scranton, PA where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Social Studies and Minors in Education and Psychology in 1956. She eventually went on to earn her Master of Arts Degree in Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University.
On Saturday, July 12, 1958, Jackie became the bride of Ralph E. Bradley
in a ceremony at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Milford, CT. While living in Muskegon, MI and raising their four children, she taught part-time at Saint Mary's School.
Moving to Traverse City with her husband and family in 1975, Jackie, a
licensed professional counselor, worked for the Kingsley - Traverse City Adult Education program, retiring in 1994. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Pastoral Council and with the Health Ministry program. She was a supporter of the State Theater and the Traverse City Film Festival, a member of the Red Hat Ladies and a lifetime member of the Grand Traverse Zoological Society. She enjoyed her water aerobics class at the Grand Traverse Pavilions until she was deemed "too healthy" to participate. She was an avid reader who enjoyed participating in Book Club and working in her rose garden. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and attending their high school and college graduations.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ralph; her children,
Erin K. Bradley and her husband, Eric Haas of San Mateo, CA, Matthew C.
Bradley and his wife Rachel Colingsworth of Plainwell, MI, Paul F. Bradley and his wife Karen (Perkette) of San Ramon, CA, and Mary Shannon Bradley and her husband Brian Hall of Pleasanton, CA and her grandchildren Patricia and Rachel Bradley-Haas, Creighton, Conor and Catherine Bradley, Jessica (Chad) Helm, Meagan and Sarah Bradley, Aidan and Patrick Hall and Alec and Michael Bressler, as well as her half-sister Lillian (Jackson) Garbus of New Hyde Park, NY. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Francis Anthony Creighton and her sister Patricia Creighton Reilly.
Visitation for Jackie will take place from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July
23 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a Scripture Service
beginning at 7:30 P.M. Visitation will also take place beginning at 10
a.m. Wednesday July 24 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with The Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday , also
at the church. Father James Hayden will be presiding. Burial will be in
Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
