James Leonard Albrecht, 70 of Traverse City, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Munson Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
James was born on September 25, 1942 in Macomb County to the late Russel Otis and Margaret Magdalina (Burg) Albrecht. He married Nancy Jean Romack on October 6, 1962 in Saginaw, MI. Together they raised four wonderful children.
James enjoyed euchre, crossword puzzles, suduko, reading, cooking and trains. Most importantly James was a dedicated father and patient grandfather, spending many hours at sporting events and collecting momentos for them.
Surviving James is his wife Nancy, children James (Anna) Albrecht of Traverse City, Dawn (Phil) Sloboda of Valparaiso, IN, Jeffrey (Barbara) Albrecht of Clover, SC, Danna (Chris) Widmar of Cary, NC, grandchildren, Allie, Summer, Joseph, Rebecca, Quentin, Justin, Austin, Madison, Elana, and Jake, sisters, Betty Ann (Dan) Vollmar and Beverly Holen, as well as many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 4-7pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Feast of Victory Lutheran Church. Pastor James Helman will serve as celebrant.
