James Davis Baker died June 20, 2024. James Davis Baker was born to John and Doris Jean Baker on January 25, 1944, in Burkburnett, Texas where his father served in the Military.
He was raised in Dexter, Michigan where he attended Dexter High School. He was a jack of all trades and master of all. He built furniture and could repair anything and everything.
He spent most of his life as an owner of gas stations in the Ann Arbor area and was a master mechanic. He ended his career working for the Traverse City Record-Eagle.
He loved Gene Autry and had an impressive collection of memorabilia.
He is survived by his wife Krysti Whedon Baker, his brother John (Carolyn) Baker, his children; Mark (Cathy) Baker, Jennifer Kegley Baker, Sally Clark Baker, and Penelope Dupuie Baker. He had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Doris Jean Baker, and his daughter Mary Jane Longo Baker, and grandchildren; Zak, Sadie, and Madison Longo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
