James Edward Berta (Jim) passed peacefully on June 9, 2021 at Munson Hospital, Traverse City, MI. Jim was born on June 26, 1937 in Mishawauka, IN and married Delores Duddles Berta on July 14, 1995 in Mishawauka, IN.
Jim was blessed with four children, Teresa Ornes, Susan (Kevin) Israel, Edward Berta and Frances Berta. He also had four step-children Linda (Scott) Bunton, Lisa (Terry) Duddles, Brian (Teresa) Duddles, and Laura (Rohn) Mikula as well as many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Irene Berta and daughter Frances.
Jim was legendary for his beautiful woodworking and his closest family and friends will cherish those creations forever.
Jim's memorial mass will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Philip Neri, Empire, MI.
