James "Tiny" Edward Lautenschlager, 85 of Traverse City passed away Sunday June 18, 2023.

Tiny was born on January 21, 1938 in Coraopolis, PA to the late Charles and Olga (Gretzinger) Lautenschlager. He married Margaret "Marge" Ann Droter on July 16, 1966.

Honorably, Tiny served our Country in the United States Coast Guard for 26 years. He retired as a Senior Aviation Electronics Chief. He served in Texas, Bermuda, Traverse City, the Philippines, Florida, and Hawaii
before retiring in Traverse City. Tiny was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, golfing, and solving Sudoku and crossword puzzles. .

Tiny will be remembered for his service to our country and as a wonderful husband and father who will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Tiny is survived by his wife Marge of 58 years, his children Jim Lautenschlager, Paul Lautenschlager, Elaine (Jeff) Monahan, his sister Nancy (William) Haushater and many other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Charles.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home from 4-7pm with a Rosary prayed at 4pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11am with a visitation beginning at 10am.
