James "Jimmy" Edwin Hulett, age 59, of Traverse City, passed away on April 18, 2025.

Jimmy was born on May 22, 1965, in Holland, Michigan, to his devoted mother, Dorothy J. Hulett. He proudly earned his high school completion certificate and cherished his time in the Young Marines program during school. Being a Young Marine was the highlight of Jimmy's life—he loved the camaraderie, structure, and sense of purpose it gave him.

Jimmy had a love for travel and adventure, especially when shared with his mom and family. Some of his favorite trips included Disney World, the Sand Dunes, and Mackinac Island. He also had a playful spirit—he loved bingo and was thrilled to visit a real casino. After a lucky win, when asked if he wanted to keep playing, he proudly said, "Oh no, I won. We're leaving!"

He had a sweet tooth, especially for his mom's famous peanut butter chocolate fudge, which he always looked forward to.

Jimmy is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy; his aunt, Clara; cousins Maxine and Larry; his beloved cat Sambo and many other cherished family members and friends. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. We take comfort in knowing he was greeted in heaven by many who went before him.

A graveside service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
