James Harvey Campbell, 79, of Alden, passed away on July 4, 2023.

Jim was born to Margaret and Jack Campbell in Detroit, MI on June 28, 1944. He was the proud owner of several deli's, restaurants, and later got into the manufacturing industry.

In 1985, Jim moved to Northern Michigan because he loved everything it had to offer. He was an avid boater, swimmer, and loved playing golf. He always admitted he wasn't very good at it, but regardless, he still liked the game. Jim's passion was being outside, working in his yard. He took great pride in his work, and the beauty he created. His children and grandchildren brought him so much happiness, along with his canine companions who were very near and dear to his heart. Jim was passionate about giving back to the community. He volunteered many hours to his hometown of Alden, where he met many wonderful friends.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Kayren Campbell, his four children: Jimmy (Gloria) Campbell, Matthew (Justine) Campbell, Marcy Campbell and Dawn Campbell. Also surviving are stepchildren: Holly (Dennis) Lake and Heather (Josh) Kittle along with eight grandchildren: Skyler, Emily, Connor, Grace, Easton, Bailey, Benjamin & Allison, along with many other beloved family members.

A memorial service honoring James will take place at 11:00 a.m., visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684. Rev. Jack Findlay will officiate.
