James "Jim" Calvin King was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 06, 2026. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose steady presence and kind spirit will be deeply missed.
He was raised in Rochester, Michigan. Jim shared a special bond with his grandparents, Ida and George King, who played an important role in his early life. He graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Business Administration, laying the foundation for a long and dedicated professional career.
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Germany during his service. Following his time in the military, he spent his working years with Rockwell International and General Motors. He finished his career at ZF Sachs Automotive serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing for North America, earning the respect of colleagues through his strong work ethic and reliability.
Jim found great joy in the outdoors and was an avid game and pheasant hunter. He shared a special kinship with dogs, forming deep bonds with his loyal companions over the years. He also had a lifelong love of cars and appreciated their craftsmanship, power and beauty.
In 1974, Jim married the love of his life, Barbara. For 52 years, he was an attentive and devoted husband, building a life grounded in commitment, partnership and enduring love.
Jim is survived by Barbara, his stepson, Jason Rebeck (Jeanine); his cherished grandson, Brandon; brother-in-law, James Wells (Donna); five nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Frances, and sister, Patricia, along with many cherished cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the time of his Memorial Service 12:00 PM at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home followed by full Military Honors.
