James Junior Marcella

James “Jim” Marcella, age 92 of Traverse City, Michigan passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Munson Medical Center.

Jim was born in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan on March 1, 1934. He was raised in Hazel Park, Michigan, then moved to Royal Oak, Michigan with his wife and children in 1960.

Jim was a proud employee (welder) at Ford Motor Company for 37 years, retiring in 2000. Following retirement, Jim and his wife moved to Traverse City, Michigan. He enjoyed fishing, and watching deer in his yard. His favorite pastime in recent years was relaxing in his chair, with his grand dog, Emma by his side.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Marie, their four children; Cheryl (Carlos) Wheatley, James (Nancy) Marcella, Rhonda Cummins, Brenda Cole, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rayma Marcella, daughter, Julia Pruyne, a sister, Patricia Matyka, and a brother, Paul Marcella.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Munson Medical Center for their compassionate care during Jim’s final weeks.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
