Traverse City - James Allan Newman, 53, of Traverse City, passed away on Jan.13, 2014, He was born on Nov. 10, 1960 to James and Joyce (Howard) Newman in Belle Glade, FL.
James enlisted and honorably served our country in the United States Navy. He married Deanne LeDuc "the love of his life" on July 1, 1983 in Algonac MI., and the couple relocated to Traverse City in 1993.
James was employed as a machinist and lath operator with Lead Screw International of Traverse City. He especially enjoyed fishing, playing "War of the Worlds" computer gaming, driving his beloved '68 vintage Mustang two-door hardtop, and cheering for the Red Wings.
He is survived by his father, James; wife, Deanne; sisters, Jennifer Ann LaLonde, Jody Lynn Orr; sons, Christopher W. Lafleur, Randy Lafleur; daughter, Renee (Scott) Cuny; grandchildren, Jeff Cuny, Kevin Cuny, Alec Lafleur, Cameron Lafleur, Rebecca Lafleur, Dylan Lafleur, Haley Lafleur; sisters-in-law, Patrice Seta and Suzanne LeDuc.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce; sister-in-law, Victoria Telly; brothers-in-law, William LeDuc and Michael LeDuc.

A funeral service will be held on January 17, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with a visitation held one hour prior.
