Obituary

Grawn - James Richard St. John, 86, of Grawn passed away December 23, 2016 at Munson Medical Center with his wife by his side.

James was born on June 1, 1930 in Detroit to the late Walter J. and Anna Marie (Hunter) St. John.

Jim served his country honorably. He was a member of the United States Coast Guard, serving in the Artic on the icebreaker Northwind.

Jim worked his way up from installer to Plant Engineer with Michigan Bell Telephone Company. He retired after 35 years of service.

Jim married Marion Corzine at Sacred Heart in Roseville on February 20, 1960.

In his spare time Jim enjoyed creating seashell wall decor, rooting for Notre Dame and socializing with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife Marion of 56 years, his son Gregory (Marilyn) of Oakland, granddaughter Erin Marie, step granddaughter Lindsay Wallace and great grandson Dylan; sisters Mary Lou Gonda, Helen Perkowski, Margaret Johnson, and Eileen St. Johns.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, and sisters Nancy St. John, Jane Kanes, and Donna Suede.

The memorial mass will be held at a later date at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Jim will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at a later date.
