Our Mom, Jane E. Drake, 90, of Traverse City, was promoted to Glory January 27, 2023.
Jane was born November 13, 1932 to the late James and Blanche (Talbot) Davis in Pittsburg, Kansas. She was one of two children and now joins her sister in a heavenly dance together.
Growing up, our mom moved often. Having both parents in the Salvation Army she supported their mission especially during WW2 where her father was Chaplain for the US Army. She would talk about it fondly with us, but mom always said that wasn't going to be a life for her kids.
Our mom invested her time and heart into many things but the top two were her faith and family. As a member for many years of the First Congregational Church, she sat on many boards and sang in the choir.
When the seasons change and the family can gather to celebrate, our mom will be laid to rest in Central Lake at the Southside Cemetery next to her husband, Roger J. Drake, sister and parents; a lovely reunion it shall be.
Jane is survived by her children; Mark (Karen) Drake, Lisa (Jeff Nichol) Drake-Orth, Steve (Carole) Drake and Jim Drake as well as 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
