Traverse City-Janet Audrey Day, born July 4th, 1932 in Traverse City went to be with the Lord on August 26th, 2012. She was the daughter of Jack and Edith VanderLey. Her life centered around her children, grandchildren and her church. She was a member of Peninsula Bible Church where she sang for many years on the praise team. Janet loved to sing and performed at various events in the Traverse City; including singing with Harry Hibbard Riverboat Six and at the Keller of Shield's Restaurant. She graduated from Traverse City High School and was a veteran of the Air Force. She is survived by sons, John and Matt; daughters, Susan, Sandra and Anna; two step sons, Jesse and Kevin; also raised and legally adopted grandchildren, Lynzee Sanders, Ashley Day and Matthew Day; along with numerous other grandchildren in addition to one brother, Jon in Florida, and dear friend Cassandra Douglass
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 1st at 1:30 PM at Peninsula Bible Church on Titus Street, in Traverse City..
Graveside services with full Military Honors under the auspices of the V.F.W. Cherryland Post #2780 will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held at the church. Memorials may be made to Grand Traverse Pavilions.
