Janet Mary Morrison 91, of Elk Rapids Michigan went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Janet was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 7, 1931, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent and Mary (Elcy) Medler. She met, fell in love with and married the love of her life, Peter C. Morrison Jr. in Chicago IL, in 1952. Janet was a devoted wife, grandmother, great-grand mother and friend. She and her Husband, a lifelong area farmer enjoyed raising five children, proud "Gaga" of 20 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
Janet was also very active in her church, East Bay Calvary, loving Bible study there. She enjoyed golfing with the Elk Rapids Ladies Golf League. She was a pilot, participating in some 11 airplane races with her twin sister Joan McCombs in the Air Race Classic. She loved quilting, sewing, and knitting her famous double-knit mittens. She was rather well known for her Apple Squares pastries; the recipe remains secret.
Janet was a member of Zonta, Yuba Womens Club, Ninety Nines, Elk Rapids Golf Course and various card and games groups.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory, her five children, Peter (Susan) C. Morrison Ill, Duncan (Toni), Patty (Mike) McDonald, Ronald (Julie) and Susan Morrison Dean; bother Donald (Karen) Medler, and many dear friends near and far.
