Janice Ruth Fellows, 66 of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Janice was born on December 30, 1946 in Traverse City to the late Evart King and Donna Marie (Hall) Cozart. She married the true love of her life, James Owen Fellows on July 8, 1967 in Grawn. Together they lovingly raised a wonderful son Steven.
Janice worked for the Grand Traverse Sherriff's Department for 24 years as an accounting clerk specialist. She was a member of the Eagles and the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed playing cards, flowers, going to garage sales and bowling. Most importantly Janice's first priority was always her family. She was a truly devoted wife, and a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister. Her beautiful smile and love for life will be remembered for ever.
Surviving Janice is her husband Jim, son Steven (Penny) Fellows, granddaughters Lauren and Hannah Fellows, sisters, Dianna (John) Shumsky, Nancy (Robert) Burns, Kandie Cozart, step-mother, Claris Cozart, half-sisters, Cathy Johnson, Bonnie Harris, an aunt Ann, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Mike Cozart.
Visitation for Janice will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 5-8pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, June 28, also at the funeral home with a visitation held one hour prior. Pastor David Eickenroth will serve as the celebrant. In lieu of flowers Janice requested that memorial contribution be directed to the American Cancer Society or to The Fellow's Family.
