Janice "Jan" L. Gordon, 65, of Traverse City passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 with her family by her side, after a brief battle with cancer and is now dancing in heaven with Jesus. Jan was born on June 19, 1951 in Traverse City to the late Orval and Phyllis (Akey) Manville. She was married to the love of her life Ron Gordon on November 29, 1969. Known too many as "Grandma Jan." Jan was a member of the First Church of The Nazarene, where she enjoyed her involvement with the Grace Point Café. Jan delivered the Record Eagle for many years. Among some of her other interests she enjoyed her dogs, country dancing and shopping. Jan had a true love for people, her boys and grandchildren meant the world to her. She put family and friends before herself; she made people feel special and greeted everyone with a hug. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Janice is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Ron, two sons; Jason (Kathryn) Gordon and Jeff (Katrina) Gordon. Also surviving are a brother, Ted (Cathy) Manville, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service honoring Janice will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the First Church of The Nazarene, 1023 S. Division St. Traverse City, MI 49684. Pastor Rick Rice will officiate.
