Traverse City - Janis (Jan) L. Mack , 68 of Traverse City passed away on February 18, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous year long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jan was born on February 5, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Orah (MacDonald) Truckee.

Jan worked for Shell Western E&P for 27 years prior to her retirement. She started with the company and worked her way up to Materials Control Specialist in their Kalkaska warehouse. In her spare time she enjoyed golfing and bowling, belonging to several leagues. She was a former board member for the Traverse City Womans Bowling Association; a former board member for the Ryan Dobry Diabetes Charity and a member of theTraverse City Eagles.

On June 26, 1993, Jan married Michael "Mike" Mack. Together they shared 20 wonderful years together.

Jan is survived by her husband Mike, children Amy (Andrew) Thompson, Andie (Charlie) Creamer, and Greg (Renae) Miller, several grandchildren, one great granddaughter, her mother Orah, and many other family members and friends. Jan's grandchildren were the love of her life, many times traveling great distances to watch them in their activities.

Jan was preceded in death by her father Charles and sister Florence Kugler.

The memorial service celebrating Jan's life will take place on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home with visitation beginning one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Ryan Dobry Diabetes Charity or to Munson Hospice.
