Jay Zoulek

June 14, 1941 — June 21, 2020

Arthur Jay Zoulek "Jay", 79, of Traverse City died June 21, 2020, Jay was born June 14, 1941 to Tony and Helen Zoulek Rumbach.

It is no secret that Jay could be kind of stubborn and maybe even a little ornery, however beneath all of that was a good man and decent human being who would do anything for you. Jay served in the Army and thus became an active member of the Traverse City Eagles and VFW. He could usually be found sipping an ice-cold Coors Light (while wearing a t-shirt with a pocket) at the Eagles club or tending his flower garden at home. Jay always seemed to take the prize in his neighborhood for best yard.

For many years Jay was a surveyor and later moved to working in the concrete business with Schmuckal Concrete. He loved going to deer camp and fishing his favorite spot, Mud Lake. He loved animals, especially his cat named Chase.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene. He is survived by his son Erik; brothers Gordon (Judy) and Larry Zoulek; step-sister Kathy (Frank) Mikula; several nieces and nephews, and of course his cat, Chase.

Jay will be honored at a memorial gathering, 1PM, Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Cherryland VFW Post 2780 in Traverse City.

Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services is caring for Jay and his family. View his tribute page or share a condolence at www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com .
