Obituary

TRAVERSE CITY – Jean Marcelline Wilson of Traverse City passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at the age of 86 at Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Jean was the fourth of six children born to Myron John Wilson, a Veteran of WWI and WWII, and Helen M. Wilson of Lapeer, MI. Jean suffered a disabling injury at birth and moved to Traverse City, MI with her Mother, in 1997, living at various assisted living facilities until her admission to the Pavilions for acute care in 2010.

She enjoyed chatting with family, friends and strangers, becoming an artist with coloring books, and an avid word search participant. Her favorite pastime was collecting books, magazines, statutes, and photos of the Royal Family, which adorned her room at the Pavilions. According to many, she was a "favorite and a sweetheart", especially from her caregivers at the Pavilions, while showing her Irish temperament from time to time.

Jean was predeceased by her parents and her sisters, Ann Wilson DeTar, and Josephine Wilson, and brother, John D. Wilson. She is survived by her brothers, Patrick J. Wilson and Thomas R. Wilson, of Traverse City, MI, and numerous nephews and nieces, worldwide.

A private funeral Mass for the family will be celebrated at St. Francis Catholic Church in the coming days. Burial will take place at the family plot in Mount Loretta, Lapeer, MI.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers, eucharistic ministers, and friends of the family for their loving support throughout her difficult journey while in Traverse City.
