Jeane (Davidson) Poos, age 102, of Traverse City, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Cordia at Grand Traverse Commons. Jeane was born on March 30, 1921 in Toronto, Canada to the late Benjamin and Lucille (Thompson) Davidson. She married John "Jack" Poos on September 3, 1955 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2003.

Jeane came to the United States as a young girl. She graduated from Highland Park High School, attended Marygrove College, the University of Detroit and later graduated from Detroit Commercial College. Jeane's entire professional career of 40 years was with General Motors Central Office. She retired in 1986 as an Administrative Secretarial Assistant to the Group Vice President of the Car and Truck Group.

Jeane's love of travel took her to many parts of the world. She made over 55 plus trips overseas. She was active in the community during her retirement years, volunteering at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, and Cranbrook House as well as at the Gardens in Bloomfield Hills. She was a member of the Village Club, the Heathers Golf Club, the Huron River Hunting and Fishing Club, the Traverse City Golf and Country Club, and the Kirk of the Hills.

Jeane is survived by her nephew, David Rickerd, a great niece, Melissa Rickerd and husband Allan Kimmett and a great nephew, Doug Rickerd as well as many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her close friend and companion since 2006, Kenneth Pickering.

A memorial service honoring Jeane will take place at 12:00 noon, with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684.

Interment of her cremated remains will be in the Kirk of the Hills columbarium in Bloomfield Hills.
