TRAVERSE CITY — Jeanette E. Jacklin, 89, formerly of Glen Arbor and Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Holland Home — VanAndel Pavillion, with her loving family by her side. Jeanette was born July 5, 1922, in Chicago, and entered into marriage with Phillip D. Jacklin June 2, 1957, in Chicago. Jeanette worked as a switchboard operator prior to her marriage with Phillip. She was an active member of Judson Baptist Church (Oak Park, Ill.), the former Bethany Baptist Church (Traverse City) and Bethlehem Lutheran Church (Glen Arbor). Jeanette enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends. She was an accomplished seamstress and greatly enjoyed playing the piano and singing hymns.Jeanette was a devoted wife and mother who prayed daily for each family member by name.Surviving Jeanette are her children, Daniel E. (Patricia) Hemmerich, Pamela J. (Thomas) Laureto, David W. (Keri) Jacklin, and William B. (Linda) Jacklin; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband Phillip D. and grandson Daniel L. Hemmerich.Visitation for friends and family will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Tuesday, Dec. 13. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, also at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with Dan Farkas officiating.
