JeanEva "Jean" Warren, 88, of Old Mission Peninsula, died peacefully in her sleep at Grand Traverse Pavilions after a short illness.
Jean was born Aug. 17, 1926, in Traverse City, Michigan, to Alfred and Martha (Couturier) Lamie. She married L. Keith Warren on Sept. 24, 1947, and together they raised four children on the Warren farm on the Peninsula. She loved her life on the farm, and her family was her number one priority. She loved to dance and in early adulthood was a member of a local dance troupe. She and Keith went dancing every chance they got and were often the first ones out on the dance floor at weddings and other celebrations.
Jean enjoyed an active social life and loved to travel. She was a founding member of the Maple Grove Junior Friendship Club on the Peninsula. She also was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farm Bureau and Fruit Grower Council. When her children were young, she was a Boy Scout Den Mother and 4-H Leader.
Her family and friends will lovingly remember her for her generous heart and warm smile, as well as the inspirational quotes and sayings she always shared in cards and letters. Love and laughter filled Jean and Keith's home during holiday parties and casual gatherings, and family and friends will carry with them fond memories of playing BINGO and cards, eating windmill cookies and sharing stories around their dining room table.
Jean will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Michael K. and Linda Warren of Traverse City; Lorelei "Lorrie" J. Warren of Traverse City; Gloria J. Warren of Grand Rapids; and Wendy Warren of Traverse City; her siblings, Gerry Belanger, Harriet Courtade and Sam Lamie; her grandchildren, Todd and Deb Warren; Jason and Melissa Warren; Jed Warren; Ariel and Jim Carpenter; Clint Warren; Toni Warren and Rick Bergey; Charity and Mark Sawyer; Jeremiah and Tanya Warren; Kimi and Bobby Baker; JJ Warren; Sara and Alex Forist; and Meg Becker; her great-grandchildren, Gena, Jaren, Aiden, Caitlyn, Peyton, Charles, Jolene, Levi, Malina, Dylan, Sam, Zack, Tristin, Cullin, Caleb, Gage, Dorothy and Sophia; and great-great grandchildren, Matthew and Kaylee.
