Jeanne Anne Curran, 92, of Traverse City passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Bay Ridge Assisted Living Center.

Jeanne was born on July 22, 1930, in Lake Leelanau to the late Ovilla Joseph and Mamie (Martineau) Plamondon. She had a long career in nursing and retired from the Grand Traverse Pavilions after 16 years of service in 1999. A devout Catholic, she was a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was passionate about protecting the rights of the unborn. Her fun-loving and playful disposition was infectious; it drew people to her and she was often found engaged in card games, bingo, and laughter with friends and family. As a mother of five active children, she handled the frequent emergencies and accidents with her calm and unflappable demeanor while salving their scrapes with good humor. She was proud of her family history and loved sharing her fond childhood memories of growing up in beautiful Leelanau County. Her children and grandchildren were especially entertained by tales of her spirited antics!

Jeanne is survived by her children; Joanmarie Curran of Seattle, Washington, David (Karen) Curran of Newtown, Connecticut, and Jill Steckley of Traverse City, Michigan; son-in-law Tom Wallace of Swartz Creek, Michigan; her siblings Marilyn Plamondon and Helen Plamondon; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jeanne Wallace, son Donald Curran, son-in-law Rick Steckley; siblings Dorothy Plamondon, James Plamondon, Mary-Jane Plamondon, Richard Plamondon, Rose Lee Plamondon, Thomas Plamondon, and Cletus Plamondon.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, July 7th, 10am-11am, followed by a funeral service at 11am at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home located at 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City. Interment to follow at Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the incredible staff at Bay Ridge Assisted Living Center and Hospice of Michigan for their loving support and compassion as well as to the small band of angel friends who assisted the family.
