Jeanne P. Falberg

Jeanne P. Falberg of Traverse City, Michigan, was born July 24, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan, and passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, in Gaylord, Michigan, at the age of 100.

Before her marriage, Jeanne worked as a secretary for the Christ Church Cranbrook and the Episcopal Church headquarters in Washington, D.C., where her strong faith and dedication to service took root early in life. After marriage, she worked as a volunteer nurse at the Holland Hospital and also volunteered at the blood bank in Holland.

She was married to her beloved husband Edward O. Falberg on June 21, 1947, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Together they traveled the world, exploring new places and cultures, and spent countless cherished days sailing—an activity that brought them great joy and peace. Edward preceded her in death after 66 wonderful years together.

Jeanne was a woman of deep faith, boundless curiosity, and generosity of spirit. She was devoted to her church and community and lived every day with gratitude and grace.

She is survived by her loving daughters Pamela Dionise, Dianne (Leo Hazen) VanGemert, and Linda (Tony Handley) Samul; grandchildren Tina (Kevin) Makarewicz, Christopher (Patsie) Dionise, Greg (Kathy) VanGemert and great-grandchildren Matthew Makarewicz, Andrew Makarewicz, and Jacob VanGemert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jeannette Stoffregen, a sister, Joyce Wicks, a granddaughter, Laurel VanGemert and two sons-in-law: James Dionise and Richard Samul.
Jeanne's legacy of faith, kindness, and humor will live on in all who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Service honoring Jeanne will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684. Pastor Linda Stephan will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
