Jeanne Curran Wallace, 61, of Swartz Creek, pssed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018. Jeanne was born on August 11, 1956 in Youngstown, Ohio and was the second daughter of Donald and Jeanne Curran.
Jeanne graduated from New Canaan High School in Connecticut in 1973 and was one of a select few to graduate in three years. She graduated from Baker College in Flint in 1999 with a physical therapy degree. Jeanne spent over 17 years lovingly working with children with cerebral palsy.
Jeanne is survived by her husband Thomas Wallace of Swartz Creek; her parents Donald Curran of Marco Island, Florida and Jeanne Anne (Plamondon) Curran of Traverse City; siblings Joanmarie Curran of Seattle, Washington, David (Karen) Curran of Newtown, Connecticut, and Jill Steckley of Traverse City; stepson Rick (Kelly)White of Flushing; granddaughter Samantha White of Flushing; and loving nieces and nephews Curran (Jordan), Rachele (Dan), Evan (Marlise), Jessica (Nick), Joshua, Blaine, Paige, and grandniece Quinn.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her stepmom Joan Curran; brother Donald Curran; and brother-in-law Rick Steckley.
Jeanne had the gift of a green thumb and planted a vegetable and flower garden every year. She was an ardent defender of the underdog, whether it be a person in need or a stray dog or cat. She always humbly put other people's needs above her own and was a compassionate caregiver. She received great joy from spending time with family, especially her nieces and nephews and granddaughter. Her promotion to Heaven has left a void in this world but she left behind a giant footprint as the hands and feet of Jesus on this earth. We miss and love you dearly!
A gathering/visitation will take place at The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 8 from 9 until 11 a.m., at which time prayers and sharing will begin.
