Jeannette Margueritte Fehner died peacefully on February 4, 2018 at the Cottages in Traverse City, MI. She was the daughter of Eugene Phillip Fehner and Ida Marie (Gagnier) Fehner.
Jeannette graduated from Cooley High School, Detroit, MI in 1938 and Marygrove College in 1942 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry. Jeannette also earned a Master of Science in Education from the University of Detroit and an additional 30 hours in Physical Science from Wayne State University. She was a Chemistry teacher at Mercy High School and College and Henry Ford Community College for many years, retiring in 1985 and moving to Elk Rapids. She was a life member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.

Brass Quintet, Encore Brass, and Northern Michigan Brass Band. She was a member of the VFW Post #2780 Honor Guard and played "Taps" for many deceased veterans. Music was her life-long passion and playing the trumpet on weekends helped pay for her college education. During her teaching and retirement years, Jeannette traveled extensively playing in overseas concerts.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Ida, sister Lucille Greggs, brother E. Charles Fehner and brother-in-law Roger Greggs. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Suzanne (Brigit) Wood of Tennessee, Valerie Michael of Missouri, Laurence Fehner of Missouri, and Laura Lee Luecking of Illinois. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Bruni Fehner.
