Burton - Jeannine Foster, 84, formerly of Traverse City, passed away October 4, 2014 at the Pines of Burton.
Jeannine was born on December 3, 1929 in Gaylord to the late Charles and Myrtle (Moore) Hurd. She was raised in Cadillac and graduated from Cadillac High School in 1948. On August 21, 1948 Jeannine married Arlin "Bud" Foster. In 1952 they moved to Traverse City from South Haven.
Jeannine was a charter member of the Presbyterian Church of Traverse City, serving as a Deacon, Elder and the Clerk of Session. She was involved in many other activities at the church including Presbyterian Women and the Voyagers. In addition, she served as the church secretary for over 20 years. After she retired, Jeannine was also a devoted volunteer for the Munson Auxiliary.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud in 2000, sisters Helen Carlson, Faith Hulce, and Joyce Riley, and brother Charles B. Hurd Jr.
She is survived by her son Mark (Ann) Foster of Flint and Diane (Robert) Agnew of Grosse Pointe Farms, grandchildren Mary Kay Foster of Traverse City, Michael Foster of Flint, Elizabeth (Brandon) Virgin of Dayton, OH, and Laura Brasie of Lexington, KY.
A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Traverse City on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 am.
