Jeffery Robert Johnson, 42, passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2025. He was residing in Petoskey, MI and had just started a new job at Moeller Aerospace.

Jeff was born on February 11, 1983 in Howell, MI.

He was very charismatic and was well loved by all who knew him. He was a huge UofM fan, GO BLUE!!!, loved playing basketball and spending time outside. Whether it be cooking out on the grill, having bonfires, or taking a trip down the river, Jeff loved the outdoors. He also liked to play video games, watch movies and spend time with friends and family. He had an amazing group of friends in Petoskey where he was living at the time. They were like an extended family to him. He had an amazing work ethic that he shared with all of his family. Everything he did, he did with every fiber of his being. He will be greatly missed by so many. If you were his friend he considered you to be family. If you were his family you were everything to him. Whether you knew it or not.

Jeff is survived by his son Bryson Mathews; dad John (Ronna) Johnson; brother Jason (Brooke) Johnson; sister Jamie (Dan D.) Johnson; nieces Vanessa, Elaina, Melina and Anora Johnson, and Emma DeCatur.

He was preceded in death by his mom Julie Klein and best friend Eric Sehlke.

A celebration of his life will be held at Blue Tractor on July 17th from 4:30–6:30 pm.

He will be laid to rest at Linwood Cemetery at a later date.
