Jeffrey Lynn Turner of Traverse City, MI, passed away in his home at the age of 79 on Wednesday November 30th, 2022. He was born on Valentine's Day, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan to J. Maxwell and Genevieve (Jozwiak) Turner. Jeff is survived by his two brothers, Joseph Turner of Saginaw, MI and Ken (Geri) Turner of Standish, MI; as well as three sons, Logan (Ashley) Turner of Los Angeles CA, Douglas (Jamie McCorkle) Turner of Missoula MT, and Scott Turner of Rochester MI, daughter in law Jeanne Turner and his grandchildren, Justine & Seth Turner and Kennedy & Wyatt McCorkle.

Jeff earned both his Bachelors and Master's degrees from Michigan State University and spent the majority of his professional life in real estate, owning two agencies in Saginaw, managing and owning a multitude of rental properties and other business ventures. On Sept 22, 1978 Jeff married Carol Ann (Miller) Turner and they moved together to Traverse City in 1988. An avid trout fisherman, Jeff fell in love with the rivers and streams of Northern Michigan and never called anywhere else home again.

Jeff had several great passions. He loved his family and attending his boy's athletic events. He loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed cross-continental road trips where his fly rod was always close at hand. He also had a great passion for basketball, especially the Michigan State Spartans and Golden State Warriors. He enjoyed intellectual pursuits as well, particularly finance, investing and foreign policy.

Jeff was mischievous in his youth and dryly witty in his later years; he was known as a kind neighbor, an adventurous angler, and a deeply caring father. His wish was to be remembered as a good and honest man. All who knew and loved him will agree that this was true.

A Memorial Mass has been scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2023, 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Old Mission Peninsula. Visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass.
