Obituary

Jeremy Adam Thomas of Traverse City, MI peacefully passed away in his home on Nov. 28th, 2020. He was surrounded by the eternal love and compassion of his closest family during his last moments. Jeremy was born Feb. 12, 1974.

Jeremy spent his early childhood between Michigan and California before his family settled in Traverse City in his early teenage years. He attended Traverse City St. Francis High school and graduated with the class of 1992.

He loved reading, writing, music, hiking and camping. Above all he loved being the proud father to his son Owen, the biggest blessing of his entire life.

He was very passionate about his career spanning several years as a chef, working in restaurants in his home state of Michigan, as well as Texas and Florida, where he also resided at different times in his life. His ability to express himself through his craft in the culinary arts brought him immense joy and pride.

Jeremy was a kind, thoughtful and caring man, who always thought of others first. His generosity and deep compassion for others were a testament to the depth of his character and size of his heart. Anyone who knew Jeremy personally could attest to his extreme kindness as well as his deep intelligence, wittiness and sharp humor. To know him well enough to call him a friend was to know he would do anything for you without hesitation or reward. To his closest friends he was not only a kindred spirit and brother, but also a teacher and mentor who always had the time and patience to help with anything you asked of him.

He left a lasting impression on everyone he knew and his impact will never be forgotten by family and friends alike. The void he leaves behind is simply immeasurable and he will be forever missed, but always remembered with fondness and love.

He was preceded in death by his Father Thomas P. Thomas; grandparents Joseph and Myrtle Sweet and Oscar and Elaine Thomas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his beloved son Owen Thomas; mother Dawn Thomas; sister Jessica Crowe; nephew Cannon Crowe and several aunts, uncles and dear friends.

"Rest with me
My lovely brother
For you see
There is no other
Memory so sad and sweet
I'll see you soon
Save me a seat

Well I'm cryin'
Now my lovely man
Yes I'm cryin'
Now and no one can
Ever fill the hole you left my man
I'll see you later
My lovely man if I can"
