Jerry Bernell Kneer, 70 of Traverse City, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Munson Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on April 5, 1944 in Ann Arbor to the late Walter and Joy (Riker) Kneer. He married Jean Maxwell on May 17, 1963.
Jerry served our Country in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Oxnard CA. Jerry started working at Thirlby Automotive in 1974. He enjoyed going to work and spending time with his friends at work. In his spare time he loved hunting, fishing, Nascar & bird watching. Most importantly Jerry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving Jerry is his wife Jean, sons Jerry Jr., Chris, and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Lauren(Frank)Moser, Leanne, Danielle, and Cody; siblings, Ronald (Lynn) Kneer, Rita (Tony) Ebli, and Tom (Ruth) Kneer and many other loving family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held on January 31, 2015 at the Elk Rapids Bible Church at 11am with a visitation beginning at 10am. Memorial contributions may be directed to The Wounded Warrior Project.
