Jerry L. Lown

March 24, 1946 — June 7, 2022

Jerry Lown, 76, long -time resident of Traverse City area, was enjoying his first nightly bowl of ice cream in a new location with his Lord and Savior on June 7, 2022.
He was born to the late Philip and Isabella (Fish) Lown on March 24, 1946 in Westphalia, MI. He was one of seven children.
A man with the heart of gold and the master of one liners came into this world on his own terms and left with them. He was ready with a good joke, a story of the biggest fish ever caught, a smile that would light up the room or a gentle belly laugh when in his Saint Nick attire. Jerry always enjoyed being part of the choir, may not have always known the lyrics but always had words to sing. Family was everything to Jerry, which he taught the important lessons of hard work, good morals, ethics and values and to treat others as you wish to be treated. His children admire the determination of their father and are forever grateful of the steadfast gifts he provided.
Jerry completed cake decorating class and became the family birthday cake maker, with roses and all (maybe even a marble). He was an amazing baker and master pie maker with a little dash of this and that but never a measuring cup.
Jerry is survived by his beautiful wife Susan (Ganger), his son Tony (Wendy) Lown, his daughters Kimberly (Nathan) Harsh and Sherry (Daniel) Brown, along with six amazing grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents & grandparents along with brother Phillip and sister Vickie.
A time to gather and celebrate Jerry will take place on July 9, 2022 at the Grawn United Methodist Church. The service begins at 11:00am with visitation from 10am until the beginning of service.
In lieu of flowers since Jerry is already pushing up daisies, the family would like you to consider memorial donations to William Syndrome williams-syndrome.org
Jerry will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
