Jeremy "Jerry" Holmes Morris, age 72, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Munson Hospital.
Jerry was born on April 7, 1953, in York, Pennsylvania, to Elmer and Nancy Morris. He grew up in York, where he attended York Suburban High School, graduating in 1971. He went on to further his education at the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology in Philadelphia and at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
Jerry dedicated much of his professional life to his work with J.E. Baker Company in York, Pennsylvania. He took pride in his career and the relationships he built along the way.
Outside of work, Jerry found great joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved listening to live music, jamming with his buddies on Idylwyld Road, spending time fishing, and playing golf—activities that brought him both relaxation and connection with others.
He was the kind of person who could turn an ordinary afternoon into a story worth retelling for years, usually with a twinkle in his eye and a joke that somehow got better (or worse) every time he told it. He had a gift for making people feel at ease, whether through his playful teasing, his well-timed one-liners, or his knack for sneaking extra treats when no one was looking. Though he's no longer here to share his jokes in person, his humor, warmth, and the joy he brought to everyday moments will live on in all who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Alexis Juett (Zach); his cherished grandchildren, Victoria and Reese; his siblings, John (Cindy), and Emily (Gus); and several nieces and nephews, including Tim (Stephanie), Nina (Abe), and Joey, Johnny, Kathryn and Evie along with many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Nancy Morris, son Theodore, and his sisters Ellen and Elizabeth.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at a later date, with services planned for the summer in York, Pennsylvania.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Munson Hospital and Cowell Cancer Center for their care and compassion.
