Jerry Allen Thornbury

Traverse City-Jerry Allen Thornbury, 64, of Traverse City, died Monday morning, July 30, 2012, at Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Born February 6, 1948, in Lakeview, he was the only child of the late Wayne A. and Evelyn M. (Mero) Thornbury. On July 14, 1979, in Grosse Pointe, he married the love of his life the former Carol Kryskalla. . .
Jerry was born and raised in Six Lakes, and graduated from Lakeview High School with the class of 1966. He continued his education by attending Farris State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in l971.
Shortly after their marriage they moved to their home near Spider Lake, where they were pleased to live for thirty three years.
He was employed by Michigan Consolidated Gas Company from 1972 to 1987. Jerry worked as an Insurance Agent for Allstate Insurance from 1987 to 1992, until his health started to fail.
As his hobbies he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His true passion was the love he shared for his family. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his wife and soul-mate, Carol Thornbury; children, Erik, Ryan, both of Traverse City and Heather of Chicago.
Funeral Services will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday, August 3, 2012, at 4:00 P.M., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Tim
Manzer will officiate.
Graveside Services with burial will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Six Lakes, near Lakeview, on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 2:00 P.M.
