Jesse Morrison

Jesse Morrison, age 37, died at his home in Traverse City, Michigan on Wednesday July 2, 2014.
Born January 18, 1977 to Becky and Danney Morrison, Jesse lived in several northern Michigan communities before settling in Traverse City. Jesse married Amanda Fletcher on May 10, 1999, a lasting relationship built on friendship and the shared admiration for and devotion to their three children.
As a child Jesse loved Saturday mornings, time he reserved for lounging in pajamas and Saturday cartoons. He loved his pets, always owning a favorite dog and appreciating quickly the wonders of the woods and water. Jesse grew to love fishing and gardening, and was a quick study in both regards. He was also an accomplished cook, happiest with full control in the kitchen and an appreciative and hungry audience to serve. He not only used his culinary skills commercially, he was frequently tapped to plan and orchestrate meals for his large family.
Jesse will be remembered as quiet and contemplative though he was quick to enjoy and instigate a prank. He was a devoted husband and a caring father, roles he treasured as he loved his wife and children above all else.
Survivors include his wife Amanda, children Taylor, Zach, and Seth, parents Becky and Al Johnson, half-sister Lilly, his maternal grandmother, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Danney, sister Chrissy, paternal grandparents, and maternal grandfather.
A funeral service honoring Jesse will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Pastor Ted Smith will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit on Monday starting at 10:00 a.m.
