Jo Anne Manley, 80, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully on Easter, Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Munson Hospice House. Jo Anne was born on April 12, 1934, in Traverse City, to the late Albert Frank and Florence (Hayes) deManigold. She was married to James J. Manley, Sr. on November 26, 1955, in Harper Woods, Michigan. Jo Anne had been employed as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery at St. John's Hospital in Detroit; she retired in 1987, after 27 years of service. She was a faithful member of Christ the King Catholic Church and was an avid golfer, playing in many leagues over the years. Jo Anne loved Las Vegas, traveling there twice a year, as well as enjoying playing cards and watching Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. Her lovingly made crocheted afghans will be forever treasured. Above all, spending time with her family was Jo Anne's greatest joy. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loving and caring for each one equally. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Jo Anne is survived by her loving husband, James, two daughters and two sons; Jean (Steve) Stanicki, Barbara Manley, Patrick (Debbie) Manley, Michael Manley and five grandchildren; Brennan (Michelle) Manley, Gregory Manley, Ryan Manley, Cira Washkevich and Aleah Manley. Also surviving are two brothers; Albert deManigold and Dennis deManigold, as well as many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, James J. Manley, Jr., a grandson, Devon Washkevich, a sister, Nancy Yousif and a son-in-law, David Washkevich.
Friends are welcome to visit with Jo Anne's family on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A funeral mass honoring Jo Anne will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3801 Shore Rd, Williamsburg, MI 49690, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Fr. Raymond Cotter will officiate.
