Joan Marie Asch

Joan Marie Asch, also known as Joani, passed away on February 12, 2023, at the age of 69, in her home, Traverse City, Michigan. She was born on August 24, 1953.

Joani was a kind-hearted person who loved pets and animals. She always wanted to see the right thing done and was therefore in charge of important situations. She was interested in politics and was an active member of many community groups and organizations, including the Downtown Development Association, for many years.

Joani had a successful career as hotel manager at Holiday Inn, where she created an award-winning hotel. She was admired by her colleagues and a great leader, often considered a difficult task master. Her dedication and hard work earned her respect and recognition in the hospitality industry.

In her free time, Joani loved gardening. She had a green thumb and enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her plants and flowers. She loved to read and shared many books with her friends.

Joani is survived by her sister, Darcey Eaton and husband, Peter Asch. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbie McCabe and Linda Davenport.

A memorial service to celebrate Joani's life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Elks Lodge, Traverse City. Doors open at 4:00, dinner 6:00 and personal offerings 7:00.
