Joan "Joann" Louise (Irish) Snyder, 85, Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was preceded in death by her Husband of 60 years, Donald Martin Snyder.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter; Kevin Snyder, Gregory Snyder and Teresa (George) Durak, three grandchildren; Amber Leary, Gabe Snyder-Laus and Katie Durak and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters; Judy (Donald) Murphy and Mary Plamondon as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joan worked in the cafeteria at Northwestern Michigan College for 29 years. She spent her retirement years crocheting afghans, scrapbooking and recording an extensive family tree and history on her computer. She enjoyed holiday meals and summer cook-outs with the families of her three sisters, five brothers, many cousins and four generations of her in-laws.

A memorial service honoring Joan will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at St. Mary's of Hannah Cemetery, 2912 M-113, Kingsley, Michigan 49649. Deacon Rene Hoenscheid will officiate.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Blair Township Library.
