Joanne M. Huston of Cedar, Michigan, age 82, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023.
She was born to the late Arthur and Stella (Taylor) Kaput in East Detroit, on June 2, 1941. On June 27, 1986, Joanne married Walter E. Huston.

Until her retirement, she had worked for Traverse City Public Schools as a custodian for 32 years. In her free time, she was always family focused and loved them without measure. Joanne will forever be remembered for her kindness and caring. She always put others before herself.

Joanne is survived by her children, Nancy (Paul) Groesser, Charles (Rhonda) Bailey, Sharon Williams; grandchildren Joshua (Jess) Thomas, Tim (Rachele) Groesser, Anna (Frank) Groesser, Amber (Jake) Ristow, Trevor (Kari) Williams, Derrick Williams, Krystal Sheren, Anthony Bailey, and Suzy Bailey; great-grandchildren, Issiah, Jayla, Matthew, Sydney, Ella, Zaelynn, Alanna, Bill, Oliver, Stella, Annarena, Cicely, Harlan, Emily and Mercedes; and numerous nieces, nephews, dear friends, and other beloved members of the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Walter Huston and David Stuart; and sister Beverly (Kenneth) Frasier.

The funeral service will be celebrated by Deacon Rene Hoenscheid at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Reynold Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. Relatives and friends may call on the family during a time of visitation, one hour prior to the service.
